Marianne Rice writes small town contemporary romances set in New England. Her heroes are big and strong, yet value family and humor, while her heroines are smart, sexy, sometimes a little bit sassy, and are often battling a strong internal conflict. Together, they deal with real life issues and always, always, find everlasting love.

Growing up flip-flopping between southern California and southern New Hampshire meant she got to live two completely different lifestyles in her youth. Nope. She's not an army brat. Just a lot of life changes (which was great fodder for her books!). She's a city girl when it comes to style, but a country girl at heart.

Marianne met the Hubby while attending college in Maine and hasn't left Vactionland since. Now a Mainer, she spends her time keeping up with her Princess (who will be heading off to college in the fall), and Sports Girl's high school sports schedule (which consists of all twelve months of the year!), and Little Guy's busy middle school sports schedule. She's a full-time teacher, a part time chauffeur, a full time cook/baker/cleaner, a connoisseur of chocolate and flavored vodka, a part time writer, and a full-time lover of Chris Hemsworth. Math isn't her specialty, but she's working on her ratios and percents, hoping to change a few things around.

The writing community is important to her. She's a member of Romance Writers of America, Contemporary Romance Writers, and the Maine Romance Writers where she's been on the board for nearly a decade. She's the recipient of NECRWA's First Kiss Award, WISRWA's Fab Five Contest, and has finaled in NJRWA's Golden Leaf Contest and InD'Tale Magazine's RONE awards numerous times.
